My name is Stephanie, founder of The Parisian Bookkeeper, and yes, I really am from Paris.

I spent twelve years working as a structural engineer in London and New Zealand before making a deliberate change. I was looking for something that would give my young family more flexibility while still challenging me intellectually. The answer came from an unexpected place. After a chance conversation with a bookkeeper about what the work actually involved, I was immediately drawn to it. The precision, the problem solving, the direct impact on real businesses. I completed a course and loved every minute of it.

I then spent twelve months contracting for an established bookkeeping practice, working across a wide range of clients and situations, before establishing The Parisian Bookkeeper. I have called beautiful New Zealand home since 2012 and I am proud to be based here in Christchurch.

My background in engineering gives me a head start with many of my clients. I already understand how project-based businesses work, I speak the language of trades and construction, and I know what it feels like to be an expert in your field while the paperwork quietly piles up behind you. Whether you work in construction, run a small practice, or simply need someone who will take the time to understand your business properly, that is exactly what I am here for.
