If you have ever wondered what it actually looks like to work with a bookkeeper, here is an honest answer.

The first thing I do is get access to your systems, Xero and anything else relevant to your business, such as Stripe or Shopify. Then I start learning your business: what you do, how you operate, and what makes your situation unique.

And then I ask a lot of questions.
Not to be difficult, but because understanding the details is the only way to do this properly. If something looks unusual or I am not sure about it, I will ask rather than guess. You will probably hear from me more in the first month than at any other time.

From there, I review what is already in your books, identify anything that needs attention, and start guiding you towards habits that make everything run more smoothly. Things like keeping business and personal expenses separate, uploading receipts as you go, and making sure your records are complete.
I will be honest with you, even when the answer is not what you were hoping for. My goal is to make sure you do not feel alone when it comes to the financial side of running your business.

But bookkeeping works best as a partnership. I can set things up, ask the right questions and flag what needs fixing, but I also need you to meet me halfway.

If that sounds like the kind of support you have been looking for, let's talk.
